Our
primary focus is to send volunteers to public and non profit
agencies in the Monadnock Area. In order to meet community
needs that other agencies are
unable to fill, we have developed the following programs that offer exciting
and
fulfilling opportunities for you! |

AMERICA
READS - So that every child can read …….
Volunteers work one-on-one with children in grades K-3 to help them
improve their reading to grade level ability. Volunteers are assigned to a classroom
teacher and work with two or three children for the entire school year! Training
and on-going support are provided. |

NEIGHBORS-IN-DEED
- A Neighbor’s
Independence Depends on You
Neighbors In Deed is a network of volunteers who offer assistance
and friendship to elderly persons in the Monadnock Region. Volunteers
activities may include
shopping for groceries, providing rides to medical appointments, running errands,
and providing companionship to the elderly. Volunteers also provide
respite and relief
for caregivers. This program helps the elderly maintain their independence and
quality of life. |

PROJECT CHORE -- No job too small - service with a
smile!
Volunteers provide a free service for the elderly and disabled to
assist them in basic home maintenance and minor home repair. The
recipient provides the material and the volunteer provides the labor.
Some project examples are replacing outdoor light bulbs, minor plumbing
repairs, installing a grab bar in a bathtub, replacing bathroom tiles
and trimming a branch. |

TELEPHONE REASSURANCE -- A Good Morning Call for you!
Volunteers make daily “good morning” calls to seniors who are over
60, who may be home-bound, living alone, or at risk for falls or sudden illness
to check on their
well being and for a friendly visit. Referrals are accepted from family members
and
agencies |
